# PowPlanet resort database

`resorts.json` is the filtered resort database generated from the public OpenSkiData downloads behind OpenSkiMap.org. It contains named, operating downhill ski areas with at least three mapped lift lines, including resort locations, elevations, mapped lift and run statistics, and source IDs. Base and summit locations use lift-line endpoints; elevations are attributed to Mapterhorn.

This modified database is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. You may share, create and adapt it under the license terms. If you publicly use an adapted version of the database, the ODbL share-alike terms apply to that database.

The dataset build timestamp, source timestamps and filters are recorded in `resorts.json`. `map.json` is a compact resort-point file joined to forecast estimates for map markers and leaderboard rankings. Its resort fields remain under ODbL 1.0; its ECMWF forecast fields are licensed and attributed separately under CC BY 4.0. `map-history.json` stores rolling six-hour forecast values by valid time; previous values remain forecasts, not observations. `briefs.json` contains deterministic summaries of those forecast estimates. The `/api/briefs` endpoint can optionally rewrite summaries with Cloudflare Workers AI when the binding is enabled; otherwise it serves this file unchanged.
